We’re going to teach you how to fix this problem, that way you can go back to enjoying your daily dose of Civilization 6. Now, however, something terrible has happened, and the latest patch for the game has introduced a nasty bug that has left many players struggling to even load into their saved games. Anyone have any ideas of getting the Vanilla Civ 3 to run? Hi!ĭid you pay attention to this: "Compatibility notice (Windows 8 or later): DirectPlay is required to be installed on Windows 8 and above" from the gog gamecard? Apparently DirectPlay is a component of directx 9.The latest installment of the Civilization series has been out for quite a few days now, and fans everywhere have been enjoying the game as they try to conquer their enemies and rule the world through the various ages of man. I can successfully run the program on one of my old WinXp laptops but would rather be able to use my more modern PC. This is the same problem I have when trying to install my cd on both my win 7 and win 10 PC. I've tried setting compatability to WinXP SP 2/3, Run as Admin but once I acknowledge the allow program to make changes it just disappears.

However when I do that on my Win 10 PC the program fails to run. According to the readme if I want to use Civ 3 Classic I should go to the directory and start the executable there.

I've never had PTW or Conquest just regular Civ 3. When running Civ 3 Complete using the launcher everything seems to work fine but it is apparently running Civ 3 Conquest.

Kittbo: Not to long ago I tried installing my Civ 3 CD on my Win 10 Pc but was unable to get it running so when I saw the Civ 3 Complete here on GOG I jumped on it.
